Sayings of Paramahansa Yogananda

Learn to see God in all persons, of whatever race or creed. You will know what divine love is when you begin to feel your oneness with every human being, not before–“The Law of Success”

Be honest with yourself. The world is not honest with you.The world loves hypocrisy. When you are honest with yourself you find the road to inner peace.—-Lecture

When we become filled with the joy of making others happy by giving them God-peace, then we shall know that God is expressing Him self through us–“Para-gram”

The greatest thing you can do to cultivate true wisdom is to practice the consciousness of the world as a dream. If failure comes, say: ” it is a dream.” Then shut off the thought of failure from your mind. In the midst of negative conditions, practice “opposition” by thinking and acting in a positive, constructive way.—-“Man’s Eternal Quest”

You will find that everything will betray you if you betray your loyalty to God. So let not one drop of oil fall from the lamp of your attention in the sanctuary of inner silence as you meditate each day, and as you carefully perform your duties in the world.—“Man’s Eternal Quest”

If you can just once “break bread” with the Lord, break His silence, He will talk often with you. But in the beginning it is very difficult; it is not easy to become acquainted with God, because He wants to be sure that you really desire to know Him. He gives tests to see if the devotee wants Him or something else. He will not talk with you until you have convinced Him that no other desire is hiding in your heart. Why should He reveal Himself to you if your heart is filled only with longings for His gifts–“How you can talk with God”

Strengthen your will power, so that you will be controlled by circumstances, but will control them—-“In a  Para-gram”

The greatest man is he who considers himself to be the least, as Jesus taught. A real leader is one who first learned obedience to others, who feels himself to be the servant of all, and who never puts himself on a pedestal. Those who want flattery don’t deserve our admiration, but he who serves us has a right to our love. Isn’t God the servant of His children, and does He ask for praise? No, He is too great to be moved by it—“Sayings of Paramahansa Yogananda”

God understands you when everyone else misunderstands you. He is the lover who cherishes you always, no matter what your mistakes. Others give you their affection for a while and then forsake you, but He abandons you never.

In countless ways God is daily seeking your love.He does not punish you if you refuse Him, but you punish yourself. You find that “all things betray thee, who betrayed Me.”–Sayings of Paramahansa Yogananda”
